注:該結構中的 person, thing 要根據不同語境選擇適當詞語。

　　2 . make sb do sth 使某人做某事。如:

He made me repeat the story. 他要我把那事重講一遍。

Rain makes plants grow. 雨水使植物生長。

I couldn’t make my car start this morning. 今天早上我的汽車發動不起來。

注:這類結構中不定式不帶 to, 但在被動語態中須帶 to。如:

He made me go there alone. / I was made to go there alone. 他要我一個人去那兒。

另外,這類結構一般不能將 do 換成 doing。如:

他的笑話使我們笑了。

正:His joke made us laugh.

誤:His joke made us laughing.

He tried to make his ideas known. 他設法讓別人知道他的想法。

She made herself [her voice] heard across the room. 他大聲説話,讓房間另一頭的人能聽得見。

注:這類結構通常可用於被動形式。如:

Glass can be made into bottles. / Bottles can be made out

注:用介詞 of 和 from 的區別是:用 of 通常指在製成品中看得出原材料,而用 from 通常指在製成品中看不出原材料。有時某些製成品是否看得出原材料很難分清,則兩者均可用。如:
