《Bleach》是NIRVANA的第一張專輯，Dale crover負責 Floyd the Barder, Paper Cuts, Downer的鼓，其餘由ChadChanning負責。唱片的錄製費用是US$606.17，付錢的是Jason Everman，他在唱片裏面連名字都未給提起。唱片的錄製時間是30小時。 Downer只收錄在CD版本里面。唱片由Sup Pop Records發行，1992年4月Geffen公司Remaster發行。《Nevermind》是NIRVANA的第二張專輯，取得了巨大的商業成功，令Nirvana為世人所知，Dave Grohl的加入令Nirvana真正定型。Smells Like Teen Spirit歌曲目的是對這個時代冷漠關係進行抨擊。歌曲的開始是一段給無數樂隊模仿過的'調子，然後散成猶如火車節奏的鼓聲， 典型Grunge的旋律。

NIRVANA把以前Singles的Side-B的和一些還沒發行過的歌收集在一起，於1992年12月15日，推出專集「Incesticide」。1993年出品 geffen公司《IN UTERO》是nirvana經過《NEVERMIND》的商業成功之後的一張專輯，KURT COBAIN 僱傭了反商業的製作人STEVE ALBINI試圖錄制一張原汁原味的朋克專輯。他運用了比以前更為豐富的音樂素材，並且在其核心藴涵着袒露COBAIN最深層的恐懼和脆弱的心，像“RAPE ME”這樣個人化的歌曲的直面痛苦的展現，在現在作一回顧，也許可以看作是一種警告，它在當初被與這個煩惱的歌手最親密的人們所忽視。但是作為藝術，這正是它的朋克所在在1996年10月，原樂隊低音吉它手Chris在超過 100個小時的演唱會錄音裏面挑出16首歌，作為演唱會錄音剪輯。
